Pause. Place. Step away.

  1. 1Check basic needs: feeding, diapering, temperature, and signs of illness.
  2. 2Gently soothe with rocking, white noise, singing, or a calm change of setting.
  3. 3If frustration rises, place the baby safely on their back in an empty crib and step away briefly.
  4. 4Call someone you trust. Ask for relief before you reach a breaking point.
  5. 5Never shake, throw, hit, or jerk a baby — even in play.
